About the role
As Principal of Shireland Hall Primary School at The Elliot Foundation, you will lead the next stage of a successful school with a strong identity, ambitious culture and important role within the wider Trust.
Shireland Hall is an inclusive primary school for approximately 670 children aged 3 to 11 in Smethwick, Sandwell. Its four core values – kindness, honesty, respect and determination – are woven through school life, shaping learning, relationships and the way pupils are supported to grow in confidence and character.
You’ll lead the school’s strategic direction while staying closely connected to day-to-day school life. From maintaining high standards in teaching, learning and curriculum, to developing staff, strengthening partnerships with families and creating opportunities that broaden pupils’ horizons, you’ll play a visible role across the whole school community.
Reading and communication sit at the heart of the curriculum, alongside a strong focus on helping children understand different perspectives, work collaboratively and become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.
Shireland Hall has a strong track record and also provides support across The Elliot Foundation. As Principal, you’ll build on these foundations while continuing the school’s contribution to the wider Trust, sharing expertise and supporting improvement beyond your own school.
As part of The Elliot Foundation, Shireland Hall combines its own strong community identity with the collaboration, expertise and specialist support of a wider family of schools.
about you
You’re an experienced primary school leader who understands that lasting improvement is built through relationships, consistency and high expectations.
You take time to understand the children, families and community you serve before deciding what needs to change. You’re as comfortable developing staff and future leaders as you are improving teaching, learning and outcomes, and you recognise that investing in people is fundamental to helping children succeed.
You’ll bring empathy, resilience and sound judgement, with the confidence to balance support and challenge while leading with integrity. You’re committed to creating an inclusive culture where every child feels they belong.
Above all, you believe great school leadership starts by putting children first. If you’re looking for the opportunity to lead a school with a strong sense of purpose, supported by a Trust that values collaboration while respecting each school’s unique identity, we’d love to hear from you.
