About the role

As Principal of Peterbrook Primary School at The Elliot Foundation, you will lead the school through its next stage of development. Working alongside pupils, staff, families and colleagues across the Trust, you’ll bring stability, ambition and a clear focus on improving outcomes for every child.

Peterbrook is a vibrant and inclusive primary school for children aged 3 to 11 in Solihull, serving a diverse community where high expectations, strong relationships and a commitment to every child shape the culture. Pupils are respectful, enthusiastic and a real strength of the school, with positive behaviour and relationships providing strong foundations to build on.

Following a period of significant change, Peterbrook has worked hard to strengthen outcomes and address the areas identified in its 2022 Ofsted inspection. You’ll build on that progress, leading the school’s strategic direction while remaining closely connected to day-to-day school life. From strengthening teaching, learning and curriculum, to developing staff, supporting future leaders and working closely with families, you’ll play a visible role across the school.

A key part of the role will be creating a culture of collaboration, professional development and continuous improvement, while building on the enthusiasm of Peterbrook’s children and giving them greater opportunities to lead and contribute within their community.

As part of The Elliot Foundation, Peterbrook combines the warmth and identity of a community school with the collaboration and specialist support of a wider family of schools. You’ll be supported by experienced Trust colleagues across areas including curriculum, SEND, safeguarding, HR, finance and estates, while retaining the autonomy to lead Peterbrook in the way its pupils and community need.

about you

You’re an experienced primary school leader who understands that lasting improvement is built through relationships, consistency and high expectations.

You take time to understand the children, families and community you serve before deciding what needs to change. You’re as comfortable developing staff and future leaders as you are improving teaching, learning and outcomes, and you recognise that investing in people is fundamental to helping children succeed.

You’ll bring empathy, resilience and sound judgement, with the confidence to balance support and challenge while leading with integrity. You’re committed to creating an inclusive culture where every child feels they belong.

Above all, you believe great school leadership starts by putting children first. If you’re looking for the opportunity to lead a school with a strong sense of purpose, supported by a Trust that values collaboration while respecting each school’s unique identity, we’d love to hear from you.
