About the role

As a Finance & Operations Business Partner for The Elliot Foundation’s West Midlands cluster, you’ll be at the heart of a people-first Trust making a real difference in primary education. You’ll work closely with a group of schools, supporting Headteachers and senior leaders to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting – ensuring every pound is used to maximise pupil impact.

This is a strategic, school-facing role where you’ll be more than a finance specialist – you’ll be a trusted advisor, helping leaders navigate challenges, make confident decisions, and deliver operational excellence. With regular school visits and strong links to our central team, you’ll turn strategy into action and help create the best possible environment for children to learn and thrive.

about you

You’re a skilled finance professional with significant experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, supported by a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACMA, ACCA) or equivalent experience. You have a sound knowledge of financial reporting standards and can confidently advise on the implications of complex decisions.

You’re as comfortable leading on operational change as you are managing the day-to-day, whether that’s streamlining processes, improving reporting, or supporting school leaders through financial challenges. You can navigate competing priorities, meet deadlines, and balance detail with the bigger picture.

A natural communicator, you can explain financial concepts clearly to colleagues with varying levels of financial understanding. You build strong, trusting relationships with senior stakeholders, work collaboratively to find solutions, and bring a proactive, problem-solving approach. Above all, you share our belief in putting children first and ensuring resources are used to deliver the best outcomes for them.

What we offer you

  • Flexibility: Remote-first role with monthly team meetings in London and regular school visits
  • Pension: Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme

Perks:

    • Dynamic, varied work with an experienced, values-led team
